We're Cool

What makes us cool? Because our goal is simple: to encourage and help to maintain a progressive community environment in the City of Cedar Rapids – and by extension, the State of Iowa. To achieve this, our chosen mission is to provide the music, news and entertainment, and to facilitate and support opportunities for dialogue and discussion, that make possible an enlightened and progressive American community.

The Music
The UrbanCoolRadio format is a mature mix of smooth jazz, R&B, and alternative music unmatched by any other Iowa broadcast or webcast station. We offer a soundscape by which to work, reflect, discover, relax, and romance.

Information & the Community
We work hard to find and create a space for those things that help to strengthen our community – our people, our uniqueness, our concerns, services and governance – to increase awareness and enhance our lifestyle, beginning with the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Technology Corridor. The news sources we present offer a well-informed and nonaligned perspective that embodies the "think global, act local" mindset.

Our Passion
Our door is open. We hope that our programming and community orientation create an online radio experience Iowans can be proud to listen to, grow with, and call their own. We are always seeking like-minded community members with the expertise and insight to help keep us grounded and headed in the right direction.
